TRIBUTES have been paid to Night Cafe lead singer Sean Martin.

The band released a a statement saying the late star will "live on forever in our hearts".

Who was Sean Martin?

Hailing from Liverpool, Sean Martin was the lead singer of the band, The Night Cafe.

The band formed in 2014 and all the members are childhood friends.

They released their debut EP 'Get Away From The Feeling' in 2017.

The band toured widely and performed at many festivals before releasing their debut album 0151 in 2019.

Who are the members of The Night Cafe?

Martin was the band's lead singer and guitarist alongside guitarist Josh Higgins, bassist Arran O'Connell Whittle and drummer Carl Dillon.

The group formed while the four musicians were still at secondary school in Liverpool.

They named the band The Night Cafe after the Vincent van Gogh painting of the same name.

When did Sean Martin die?

It was announced on November 6, 2023 that Sean had sadly passed away.

A cause of death is yet to be announced.

Taking to Twitter, the indie band wrote: "We are devastated to share the sudden passing of our best friend Sean.

"Words can’t describe the pain we are feeling right now, we’re still struggling to process it all.

"We ask everyone to respect the privacy of Sean’s family and friends during this difficult time.

"Sean was not just our band mate, he was our childhood best friend that we shared so many memories with before the band even started.

"We made so many more memories along the way and achieved things we only dreamt of that we will cherish forever.

"His memory will live on forever in our hearts and through the music he put out into the world for you all. RIP Sean Martin."

Paying tribute, one fan wrote: “Genuinely in pieces. The Night Café soundtracked my teens, will forever love this band. Rest in peace Sean, thank you for the memories.”

Another said: “Cannot describe just how much this hurts. The Night Café have been everything to me since I was 15 years old and this feels like losing a friend.

"Not only one of the most talented and soulful musicians in indie, but also just such a lovely, kindhearted, sound fella. Heartbroken.”

This fan said: "Absolutely heartbroken to hear the news. Rip Sean, sending love to the band and his family."
