Winter on the Farm star in hysterics as Helen Skelton breaks gadget on air
Winter on the Farm: Pizza cutter breaks
Winter on the Farm’s Jules Hudson couldn’t contain himself as Helen Skelton accidentally broke a gadget live on air. On Tuesday’s instalment of the Channel 5 show, one segment included chef Tim Bilton.
The cook was going head-to-head with an automatic soup-making machine to test which dish would win over the presenters and JLS star JB Gill. The three people would blind-taste the two soup’s to see which they thought was better.
As Tim confessed he’s more of a traditional cook, he told the trio he prefers to stay clear of gadgets and technology. With a range of unusual-looking utensils on the table in front of him, he confessed they scared him.
Jules commented: “But it might essentially make it easier, you’re not tempted to get into the modern art age?”. Tim replied: “It’s not about being easy, it’s about having that love and passion!”
Giving the range of gadgets on the table a closer inspection, Helen informed Tim and Jules what they were. Picking up the first object, a plastic shape with vertical gaps, Tim and Jules were stumped.

Unable to guess what it was, Helen revealed it was a banana slicer.
Jules burst into laughter as Helen tried to explain the usefulness of the item. Not having any of it, he commented: “Or you just get a knife out?”
Calling the usual way to cut a banana boring, she moved on to the next gadget which was an oddly shaped pair of scissors.
She commented: “It’s a pizza cutter, I’ve broken it! Then you can slice it.”
Although she tried to demonstrate how to use it properly, the two blades came apart in her hands as she broke the item.

JLS star JB said: “I’d actually think that’s pretty good. I would use that.”
However, her co-star Jules couldn’t get past Helen accidentally breaking the object as he was left in hysterics.
The light-hearted playfulness comes after Helen consoled her co-star on air after his tough year.
Last year, Jules’ dad died at the age of 91, with his two Labradors passing away in the months after.
During Monday’s show, the presenter reflected on his year during a mental health walk in the winter sun.
Back at the farm, Helen put her arm around his shoulder and said: “I’m so sorry for your loss.
“I’m so sorry as your friends… as adults you don’t sit down and talk about this stuff… because you’re a stiff upper lip kind of guy.”
Winter on the Farm continues Wednesday 13 December on Channel 5 from 8pm.
