X Factor star looks unrecognisable after new hair and 2-stone weight loss

X Factor star Honey G rocked a completely new look after ditching her old hairstyle and embarking on a fitness journey.

The rapper, 42, who came in fifth place as a novelty act on the ITV talent competition in 2016, looks completely different after a style overhaul.

Gone are the tracksuits, shades and poker-straight black hair, that may or may not have inspired Dua Lipa’s Brit performance a few years back, and in its place Honey has opted for a more natural look.

The performer is now mostly seen wearing her natural brunette locks curly, while her preferred outfit choice is jeans matched with a nice top.

Honey, real name Anna Georgette Gilford, has also lost 2-stone after discovering a love of exercise in 2021.

And it’s not just a quick treadmill sesh at the gym: she’s recently completed four triathlons and a 20-mile run.

Her newfound love of triathlons happened completely ‘by chance’, Honey revealed last year.

‘I never knew I would become this passionate about a type of sport and I have truly fallen into triathlon by chance,’ she said.

The singer also said that the weight loss had given her ‘the confidence to put myself out there’.

Honey’s goal is to keep on tackling marathons, with the London one in her sights next.

‘I have a strict routine and you have to be really disciplined,’ she told The Sun.

‘Especially with the marathon training. I’m following a strict training plan, and you have to do a long run so I’m running two or three times a week.

‘I did a 20 mile race in October and I was absolutely cream-crackered after that and literally couldn’t even walk. But now everything is looking good and my training is going very well.’

But fans need not worry that she’s completely given up her music career.

‘I’m balancing my fitness with my music, and I’m doing a lot of running in the evenings and then I’m in the studio during the day, so there’s loads going on,’ she added.

‘I’m hoping to release something that I think is going to do well and I’m exploring my singing side too. You’ve seen me rapping a lot but I’m singing too, so it’s a bit of both.’

Although Honey G was signed by Simon Cowell’s label Syco, she was dropped when her debut The Honey G Show flopped.

In her X Factor audition she famous said she was ‘sweet like Honey G’ before launching into a rendition Work It by Missy Elliott.
