American sitcom Friends has re-entered the Netflix UK & Ireland top 10 charts following the tragic news of star Matthew Perry’s death.
The 54-year-old actor, who portrayed one of the core six characters Chandler Bing, was found unresponsive in his hot tub at his California home.
The star of the NBC sitcom’s cause of death could take longer than expected after the post-mortem was inconclusive.
As of yesterday (October 30), Friends is at number 10 in the UK Netflix charts as fans revisit the show.
Some of the other shows in the top 10 on Netflix in the UK include the time travel thriller Bodies, the David Beckham documentary, The Fall of the House of Usher and the true crime drama Maxine.
According to the Emmys.com, some of Perry’s biggest Friends episodes include The One Where Rachel Finds Out, The One Where Everyone Finds Out and The One With the Engagement Picture.
Friends was Perry’s biggest role of his career but the star had appeared in other Hollywood projects such as Fools Rush In and The Whole Nine Yards with his friend Bruce Willis.
Post-Friends, he earned acclaim for his turns in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The West Wing and The Good Wife.
He also featured in The Odd Couple, The Good Fight and The Kennedys: Decline and Fall.
Along with his acting, he was an advocate of mental health and spoke candidly about his own struggles and addiction in his 2022 book Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir.
