Im A Celebs Nick Pickard reveals huge jungle weight loss and how Hollyoaks will handle it

After spending two weeks in the Australian jungle on a diet of rice and beans, Nick Pickard has revealed that he has lost almost eight kilograms.

The soap personality, 48, who was the fourth star to be eliminated from I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, only learnt of the weight he had shed after leaving the jungle.

And now, he's curious how Hollyoaks bosses will write the weight loss into character Tony Hutchinson's storyline when he gets back to work. Nick explained: "I've lost one stone and three pounds. They weigh you at certain points during the trials and things because there are weight restrictions and I was trying to look(at the scales) but the medic wouldn't show me. So it makes it all the more interesting when you come out."

"I'm going to definitely try to do no more midnight trips to the fridge, because that's where you put on your weight. I'll try and keep it off as much as I can."

Thinking about getting back to his day job, Nick explained that it could be covered pn the show, but he can't guarantee the weight will stay off.

"They might try to write it into Hollyoaks, I don't know. It's one of the things that we say 'I will keep it off' – but I've come out here and it's Christmas. So it will probably all go back on!"

He's not the only one to have changed their physique while in the jungle, as Fred Siriex – who left a day prior to Nick – also found out that he had lost weight upon leaving.

Fred said: "In the jungle, because you are on rice and beans, first I lost a lot of fat but I lost a bit of muscle as well. But the muscle quality has gone up because I was very physically active. I lost 5 kilos (11lbs) I am so fit.

"I was 76.6 kilos when I went in, I was the fittest I have ever been, physically and psychologically – I have trained and prepared for this. The focus has balanced me out in a way I have never been before in my life."

Upon leaving the jungle, Nick was greeted by his girlfriend Sarah Corrin, who had been waiting Down Under for him. Speaking of their reunion, he said: "My girlfriend just said she's really proud of me.

"She was really happy because you just worry about how you come across, that's all that matters because you never know how these things are going to portray you when you're outside.

"I've been in the game long enough to know the way it goes. But yeah, so far it's been very positive. I can't wait to watch some of the show back."
